Cast
This film talks about the journey of a choreographer and a ballet
dancer among the Parma Castles, in search of places to set their
next tour: through dreams and reality they discover incredible
scenarios…. This is the theme of Luca and Marco Mazzieri’s
film-documentary. From Montechiarugolo to Bardi, from Sala Baganza
to Felino, through to Torrechiara, Roccabianca, Soragna, San Secondo
and Fontanellato, the artists of Liliana Cosi and Marinel
Stefanescu’s classical ballet company accompany the audience, on the
notes of Chopin, Brahms and Albinoni, in a magical journey in search
of antique fortresses full of art and history. “the idea – as Luca
Mazzieri explains, arises from the need of dealing with the
documentary tradition dedicated to art and tourism in a more daring
way. It is our intention to show the public in general and not only
Parmesans, our city’s heritage distancing ourselves from the tout
court traditional documentary form, allowing emotions and not the
narrator’s voice to express themselves”. The sound track, which was
written in record time (one day), was created using only electronic
keyboards.

Being Rudolph
Valentino’s last film, released one month before his death on the
26th August 1926, this film proves to be a monument to the charm of
the film world’s most famous “sex symbol”. It was originally made as
a silent movie but later sound was added. The original music score
by Massimo Moretti was commissioned by the Ultrapadum De Itinere
Festival. “I wrote this music for this film trying to eliminate its
total lack of irony”.

Cast
This was my first
approach to composing music for images. Not having original material
to compose a sound track for, sequences from Bergman’s homonymous
masterpiece were taken. Clearly, the idea wasn’t to offer an
alternative to the original sound track but simply the wish to
confront oneself with marvellous sequences that have contributed to
film history.

This work was
commissioned by the music festival “Busseto Musica”. An original
score inspired by the images taken from Welles’ homonymous
masterpiece. The sequences selected become the opportunity to
briefly tell the story of this great Shakespearian play with the
help of music that is in perfect synchronism with the
Cinematographic narration.

Film Details
A journey through
the history, culture and tradition of this marvellous town in the
Marche (Italy) of which Marco Mazzieri enhances the beauty in all
its aspects; architecture, art, and nature harmoniously blend
together thanks to an elegant direction and refined photography. The
pieces composed for these sequences are for piano as well as sampled
sounds. This is the last work created with obsolete technology.
Immediately after, in fact Massimo felt the need to make a small
dream come true: a studio where creativity and technology live
together in harmony.
