Massimo Moretti
was born in Imperia on the 7th June 1971. He studied piano with
Maestro Mauro Pignotti at the Music school “O. Respighi”. He played
the keyboards in the Rock Band “EXNOVITA”. At the age of 21 he began
to study composition with the composer Luchino Belmonti and then
went on to study first of all at the “G. Verdi” Conservatoire of
music in Turin with Maestro Silvana DiLotti and then at the “A.
Boito” Conservatoire of music in Parma where he continued to study
under the guide of Maestro Emilio Ghezzi (Composition), Andrea Saba
(Band instrumentation), Leandro Bonelli (Piano and Score reading),
Paolo Oppici (complementary Organ and Gregorian Chant) and Riccardo
Moretti (experimental course in Film Music). During the whole period
of his studies he dedicated himself assiduously to Composing having
had the possibility to gain experience both in writing concert music
and music for images. The constant research for his own musical
identity, supported by solid foundations put down by Maestro Luchino
Belmonti of whom he had the privilege to be the only student and
disciple of his “Theory of the integral scale” elaborated by
himself, allowed him to achieve a personal style that perfectly
incarnates all the peculiarities of his own artistic sensibility; a
dimension that Massimo defines as being his “sonorous habitat”.
Massimo Moretti lives in Parma (Italy) and works in his studio in
which creativity and technology live together in harmony. He is
supported in his work by the precious and irreplaceable collaborator
Emanuele Castagneti with whom he began this marvellous adventure
some years ago.
